Bham & surrounding cities: this Block Party is for YOU!

Hey y’all,

This summer, Yellowhammer Fund seeks to infuse joy into our outreach that centers self-advocacy and liberation. With all that we have going on (abortion bans, regulations on birthing, and the criminalization of pregnancy outcomes just to name a few,) it is easy to get stuck in work that is purely based on survival. We see it necessary if not crucial to do work that centers joy, healing, community, and our need to thrive.

As such, we are launching Hot Girl Summer!

Yellowhammer Fund’s Hot Girl Summer is a four-week long event in July. The event will kick off with a Block Party in which we will distribute period products, safer sex kits, diapers, resource information for pregnancy outcomes, and lunch. We will have music, a clothing swap, craft stations, a barber and salon tent, toys, painting stations, catering by Black-owned food trucks and so much more! All free to community members!

Registration is now open! If you would like to attend our Hot Girl Summer Block Party* from 10am – 3pm on Sat. July 6th in Elyton Community across from Legion Field, please click here and fill out the registration form.

*Please note: this event is open to residents of Birmingham and surrounding cities but priority will be given to residents of the West Side of Birmingham. This event is family friendly and will have childcare on site. We are forming a contingency plan in case of rain or severe weather so keep an eye out for any updates on our social media @yellowfund as well as your inbox.

Hope to see y’all there!

Support Reproductive Justice in the Deep South

The Yellowhammer Fund envisions a society in which reproductive decisions are made free from coercion, shame, or state interference, a society in which individuals and communities have autonomy in making healthy choices regarding their bodies and their futures.
