Yellowhammer Fund is a reproductive justice leader in Alabama, a state with a total abortion ban, where minimum wage is only $7.25, Medicaid still hasn’t been expanded, and the maternal mortality and pregnancy criminalization rates are the highest in the nation.
Yellowhammer Fund’s impact in Alabama, Mississippi, and the Deep South is remarkable. Since March 2020, the organization has delivered over 30,000 emergency contraceptives, providing vital support to individuals in need of reproductive healthcare. They have served well over 500 families with essential supplies like diapers and period products, trained 50 Fellows, and are continuing the fight for abortion access for Alabamians. Their tireless efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of countless Southerners, highlighting the urgency and importance of their cause.
