Currently the majority of American abortion patients use medication abortion to terminate their pregnancies. Medication abortion is usually a two pill regimen: one dose of Mifepristone followed by four doses of Misoprostol 24-48 hours later. Medication abortion using Mife and Miso is safe and effective – it’s safer than Tylenol, Viagra, or getting your wisdom teeth removed.
Mifepristone has been FDA approved for over 20 years and it has been used by millions of Americans to successfully end their pregnancies. Now we could see a nationwide ban on Mifepristone: a Trump-appointed judge in Texas will be ruling on a lawsuit challenging the FDA approval of Mife, which would affect abortion access in EVERY state.
No matter the ruling, let’s get one thing straight; we will never settle for crumbs when it comes to abortion access! We know that this is part of a greater agenda in which the anti-abortion movement is seeking to ban abortion nationwide and they won’t stop with Mifepristone. We need and deserve a range of options that help us thrive without fear of criminalization, forced pregnancy, or government interference. We can’t settle for less.
